JUSTIN GRAVES

Justin Antuan Graves (born November 17, 1984) is an American writer, actor, and producer best known for blending sharp humor with heart in his screenplays. Born in Beaufort, South Carolina, Justin spent his early years as a military brat, bouncing from base to base—and finding consistent comfort in cartoons, comedy films, and a remote control that rarely left his hand.

Inspired by everything from Honey, I Shrunk the Kids to Friday, Old School, and Superbad, Graves developed a deep love for storytelling—especially the kind that makes you laugh, think, and maybe cry a little. After earning a degree in Communications from the University of South Carolina Aiken with dreams of becoming a music personality, he pivoted to screenwriting in 2016 after a John Singleton interview,  lit the creative fire.

In 2018, with nothing but ambition and a stack of spec scripts, he moved from Jacksonville, Florida to Los Angeles. No agent, no connections—just hustle.  No contacts, no agent, and no Plan B—just the motto he lives by: “Be an asset, not a liability. Do the work, and don’t be a fuckin’ dickhead.” That mindset became his compass in the chaos of Hollywood.

Graves carved out his path by writing short films, DM’ing filmmakers, and eventually scripting for viral comedy influencers like Juhahn Jones, Virgil Harris, G Wayne, and Kassandra Lee. His writing credits include Friends With Potential (2023), Trifecta (2021), Famous-ish (2021), and What Had Happened Was (2020). He recently co-produced the 2024 thriller Swoon and co-wrote the hit Allure, starring Yung Joc and Blue Kimble.

Now based in Las Vegas post-WGA strike, Graves continues to build character-driven, culturally resonant stories that bring authenticity, hilarity, and culture to the screen.
